6. Avoid Debt

Getting rich comes with being debt-free. Make sure you pay off your debt whenever you get the money. This is what I did, and it helped me focus on my job and make more money.

7. Maintain an Emergency Fund

For all of your urgent financial needs, make sure you maintain an emergency fund, which is a great financial strategy. At least, it worked out well for me.

8. Take your Savings to the Next Level

If you’re to incur large expenses at a later date, then you should start saving for it today. It would keep you on the right track in terms of your financial goals.

9. Invest

You should invest all of your savings to multiply your income manifolds. This is what I did to get rich.

10. Focus on all the Above

If you adhere to all of the above-mentioned guidelines, then there is no reason you can’t get rich.

  1. Well I am assuming you were already comfortable in your financial standings..It is extremely hard to save any money when you are living payday to payday. My husband and I have been raising 2 granddaughters for 11 years now. ( my daughters ) and they are at the age that is very expensive, however we shop at goodwill for most of our needs such as clothes, shoes, furniture etc…School is expensive if they choose to participate in extracurricular activities such as girl scouts, 4H, sports etc…I am a retired Correctional Lieutenant after 25 yrs working I still have to live on a fixed income. my husband still is employed with the Dept of Corrections and I am working full time at a local convenience store. I read these tips and I am going to really try hard to do this, I know it is late in my life for this as I am almost 60, but I have always believed that it is never to late…Thank you Mr. Parker you have been a true Inspiration to me…In all your generosity, I have “payed” it forward several times and It puts a jump in my step and a great feeling in my heart!!
    Sincerely…Thank You!!

  2. I have worked since I was 16. I graduated high school in 1991. In 1994 I traveled to NY and picked up my niece at the age of 6 months old because my brother was a drug addict and her mother never really wanted kids. She will be 22 this year and wants to get married next year. She wants to have a large country wedding that’s gonna run around $12,000 and I can’t even afford to fix my kitchen floor that is rotten from a leak 6 years ago and a wall leak in the kids bedroom where we had to remove one sheet of sheet rock and you see 2by 4s there. I have taking care of my brothers son and have a student loan for him and $10,000 from his credit card when he was in college for 6 years. I’m so far in debt I would appreciate some help if its at all possible and I promise to pass it on. I always offer my help with others in anyway possible. Thanks for all you do whether you can help me or not. I would be the same way if I had the money to help others. I have an 11 year old family member I’m helping raise now. I will always have a big heart and lots of love with or without money though it would just help.

  3. Those tips are great but some of us are so buried in debt that we can never save anything and when we do it goes to some past due bill or households exc.
How do we ever get ahead to invest. Pray for a miracal right? Well sorry More couldn’t have been attained

  4. When you live on a fixed income it is very hard to save anything. I thank god for my family that help me when I need help otherwise you do what you have to and hope and pray for something better. I have two beautiful granddaughters that are my life I want to try and give them the best childhood.. I’m sorry and God bless you…

  5. I have tried to save money but I help my children as often as I can . My youngest daughter Stormy has a two year old Daughter named Starfire and she is working hard to support her but she would not make it on her own without me and my husband helping her we pay her bills plus are bills and never have the money to put in savings because my husband owns a computer store that bairly makes it. There is some weeks that he don’t get a pay check because he don’t make enough to have any money. It all goes back in the store for supplies. So it is hard to save.

  6. Yes it is hard to save when you’re living paycheck to paycheck & for me, I have a bad leg and bad back so I can’t work just any job.

  7. You know MR.Preston it is always not easy as you say maybe for you it was but for most of Americans it’s living pay check to paycheck or month to month as I do disability and rent and utilities I live on less then fifty dollars a month it is very hard and some times I wake up and say why God please let me sleep there is nothing for me here any more I feel I have done my purpose in life I can’t even work if I wanted to because they will take my disability away I can’t live without being on assistance I barely have any food in my fridge to last till next month as I appreciate what you do people reading your like share comment most people really would rather die then to live pay check to pay check,I’m 64 yrs old divorced my husband left me with stds that ruined my life of ever having a relationship again so,for most people they have someone to help them I don’t I wish everyday for something good to happen so I guess keep on keeping on as you do I wish the people luck if you help them but it is very very difficult to do sometimes thanks for reading this and your time I appreciate this I know you must get a lot of these letters but I hope that you read mine.bless you

  8. I think it is great of what you are doing for others god bless you I praying that the day will come that I’m debt free and I no with God’s help and my Fath I no it will happen it’s been a long road being a widow of almost 6 years now and trying to make it by but god always there to help me thru so if you could pray that the same will come my way God bless you

  9. Let see how good I do. On SSI. I have written 5 tips down and will to follow. Thanks for the inspiration. By year we will have that down payment for that car! I’ll keep in touch.
    Lots of pop-ups. God Bless

  10. I did this for years so I’d be comfortable in retirement. Then 2008 hit and I was laid off but found work in a few months. Then 2011, was laid off again, became totally disabled, with out insurance as COBRA was the same as my house payment, and had state disability while trying to recover. Made too much on disability to get county insurance or their help. Took all of my savings to live the next 4 years trying everything to regain my independant life but ended up on SSDI. Stuck now on a hamster wheel I can’t get off of financially because I’m responsible and refuse to shaft any of my creditors or file bankruptcy. Pride I’m sure will end with me out in the streets. I need to get home to Kansas where I can be close to my family so they can help take care of me but I can’t get two dimes to rub together to move forward on this necessary and urgent need. I feel like I’ve been shuffled into nowhere and have become nothing. Please, it would not take much if you can see clear to help me and I promise I will pay it forward everyday of the rest of my life if you do.

  11. I don’t see how really any of these tips are helpful, not trying to sound rude, or negative. I am pleased to see someone trying to help! But it really doesn’t, and I’ll explain why. I am 25 years old with possible cervical cancer, and Multiple Sclerosis. I have a two year old daughter, I work as a home health aide, because having these illnesses make finding a better job harder to find, because no one wants someone with medical problems. Trust me, I’ve looked andhave read many applications, they ask about health. So with that being said, I try setting goals, but my goals are in the medical field and I am not capable of working more than 5 hours. I keep track of my earning, because I have to keep track of bill money, gas money, and daily living money, I right now am not even receiving food stamps for my daughter because the states taking almost a year to re-process my application for them, so the food I get is also paid from my earnings! It is almost impossible to save my money when its me and only me who provides for my two year old, and as she gets older her needs get more expensive… Like I said I don’t get help from her father. As far as cutting down expenses, I don’t have any cause there again I can’t afford it! My expenses are based on what my daughter needs, what I need. My needs are though mostly making sure my car is working right, my daughter has food in her stomach, and that she has a roof over her head. So while I find this to be helpful for people who have a little higher up hand with money, its just not helpful to me….Like I said I’m not trying to sound at all mean about this just giving an input from a single, low income mother. Thank you for your time! -Brittany Cropper

  12. That’s great ten things to know. I have been working so much to get caught up. I have a family that needs me too. We where doing great until my husband got hurt 5 yrs ago .Then I just took over .its been hard .My son got really hurt bad àn April- 2015. I had to take 8 weeks off.Now that put me back in a hole. I have been doing between 16 hrs and 12 hrs shifts .I’m worn out . when I can work I feel like I can’t hold me head up.I work because I have a family to raise and god knows I try. How ever even though things aren’t always easy, I still walk in my work and hold my head high .My family and my job keeps me going. I know I have ANGEL out there.

  13. My husband of thirty-two years and myself both worked very hard all of our marriage and we e doing OK financially intill he got laid off after being with the company 35 years, without severancev pay. Since then we had to use all of our retirement to live on. We paid our vehicles off and tried to pay off all the debt we could, this did not include our house we are now about to loose. We are now on welfare, trying to get a business going but its hard to get the bills paid without a steady income, our first goal is to get off of welfare, its hard on the pride to except help, we sold most of our assets, anything we could do o stay off welfare. We are blessed that all of our children are grown and have very good jobs, we are glad they seen us work hard as they grew up. We are determined, but it has put a great strain on our relationship. Anyway reading your stories on how you help people helps me get through the days, it helps me keep my faith in God, you do amazing things, God bless you.
